Champagne House of Ellner

Champagne House of Ellner contacted us yesterday. They were very pleased to announce that Michael Edwards has included their Champagne House in his new book “The Finest Wines of Champagne.” This is a guide to the best Cuvées, Houses and Growers.
He says of Ellner’s champagnes:
“… consistently good Champagnes showing an admirable length that would put several grandes maisons to shame by comparison.”
In his book he reviews their Brut Integral and says:
“for such a bone-dry wine, the flavours are rich and lasting, reflecting ripeness of the grapes and the admirable house style. Impressively long on the palate. A successful non-dosage cuvee.”
Mr Edwards also has praise for the Charles Ellner Cuvee de Reserve which we are offering as a magnum:
“A lot of freshness – the conventional dosage well integrated – and a certain complexity. Good balance and length. Very respectable.”
Our congratulations go to Ellner for achieving this accolade and we might just have to crack open a bottle of Brut Integral to toast their success.
Please visit our shop if you would like to sample one of these wonderful products.
