It’s definitely not a blanc de blanc style of champagne… more a wine with bubbles. It has a soft acidity balanced with a touch of creaminess a bone dry mouth feel and a gentle grassy green finish that lasts. My husband thinks anyone who likes to drink white burgundy would especially like this champagne, so do give it a try.” (Diane Flynn, London)

If I win,(while racing cars) don’t throw this one over me! – It’s too good to waste! A crisp orchard, summer smell, light fruit vanilla but not too strong. Very light, ‘appley’. A vanilla taste which was very pleasant. I would score this 8-10. (Mr Ian Wilkins)
This champagne had the freshest smell, with loads of green apples and mint on the nose. A pleasantly sour apple flavour dominated with just a touch of oaky vanilla on the finish and lots of bubbles. I could drink a lot of this champagne especially if it’s perfectly chilled on a hot summer day. (Diane Flynn, London)
Roger Legros Rosé
“Tasted this at the London Wine Fair – was bowled over. It is so delicate and stylish. I referred to it as a ballerina type of wine – beautiful, soft, elegant but strong and purposeful. I made sure Richard tasted it as Champagne Ambassador in the year for Rose! I was delighted to see that you are selling it. Cheers!” Laura (Laura Clay, Wine Educators)
PS Gauthier Legros was as charming as his wines.

Aromas of apples, oak leaves, vanilla and bread. Long in the aftertaste. We score this champagne 8 out of 10. It is certainly a champagne that we would consider purchasing for our next celebration and we would have no hesitation in recomending it to our friends…we believe it is a very good quality and reasonably priced champagne. This champagne reminded me of my favourite dessert… a sweet pastry layered with apples, walnuts and poppy seeds. The fruity flavours came through right from the start, and more complex flavours developed through the finish. (Diane Flynn, London)

This champagne was surprisingly sweet, reminding me of alcoholic ginger ale. It was fine to drink with mildly spiced food, but a bit too sweet for my liking on its own. (Diane Gunn, London)

This champagne was surprising, it had very nice stone fruit flavours with a slightly sour lemon finish. It had a honey sweetness that we weren’t expecting, one that I might not have loved if I were drinking the wine on its own, but that served it well with our spicy food. So it’s definitely a ‘go with food’ wine for us. (Diane Gunn, London)

The champagne had some very full flavours dominated by fruits of the forest and with a fresh, green-herb finish (almost like tarragon, but not as ‘liquorice -y’). It also had a good supply of small but endless bubbles. It was an easy drinker, both with food and on its own. And it didn’t last long… (Diane Flynn, London)
Charles Ellner Brut Premier Cru. To buy or read the full customer review click here
Our initial reaction was that this was a pleasant brut but not very full flavoured at all, however the flavour then develops and lingers in the mouth leaving a slightly sweet back taste and a long pleasant aftertaste. The taste seems to grow in your mouth so don’t make up your mind until you’ve taken a good sip and allowed it to develop on your taste buds. We would rate it 9 out of 10 and it would be wonderful for a summer celebration. (Chris Lavender, Hampshire)

This champagne had a very nice aroma. It is more effervescent than bubbly. Mild flavours of soft lemon, then notes of mushroom and flowers. Very drinkable as an aperitif. (Diane Flynn, London)

It had the surprising (in a good way!) aroma of chocolate when we first poured it. The flavour was incredibly rich, with lots of prune taste, but with enough acidity to make it a very clean champagne. (Diane Flynn, London)
Our Website
In the process of researching for a couple of presentations I’ve been asked to do, I came across your website. It really is very good and conveys your obvious love of this wonderful drink. I’ve been visiting the Champagne region for the last 20 years, and like you all, I’ve developed a love not only for champagne, but also the region and its wonderful people. (Mr Mallinder, Lancashire)
