Roger Legros Millésime 2002

Was £28.99 now £25.99

Ripe fruity flavours complimented by brioche and honey.

67% Chardonnay and 33% Pinot Noir.

Awards: a bronze medal at the IWSC 2006, IWC Commended 2008, Guide Hachette 2009. All the grapes used to make this champagne came entirely from the Legros vineyard. The grapes used to make this elegant drink had an exceptional sugar content. It has wonderful aromas of white flowers. The predominance of Chardonnay makes it a delicate and fresh wine while the Pinot Noir provides the whole with a good vinosity. This champagne has flavours of ripe fruits with some faint notes of brioche and honey. The Guide Hachette said the Millésime's balanced and long lasting taste ‘won them over’. Full bloomed in the mouth, this wine has benefited from a long period of maturing which lasted nearly four years and enabled it to reach its aromatic peak. The final taste is rich and long lasting. This champagne should be served at special occasions and to accompany exceptional dishes.

Price: £25.99

Tasted this at the London Wine Fair – was bowled over. It is so delicate and stylish. I referred to it as a ballerina type of wine – beautiful, soft, elegant but strong and purposeful. I made sure Richard tasted it as Champagne Ambassador in the year for Rose! I was delighted to see that you are selling it. Cheers! Laura

PS Gauthier Legros was as charming as his wines.
