Roger Legros Extra Brut
Roger Legros Extra Brut
A zingy champagne very fresh with apples; softened with extended ageing.
Great as an aperitif to wake up the palate before a full meal.
Full of tart green apple flavours and kicks of citrus which get the tongue tingling- great to stimulate the appetite! This extra brut has less added sugar than a brut champagne but it isn't as dry as some champagnes we’ve tasted. There is a great vivaciousness to it and it is rich and lingering on the palate. All the grapes used to make this champagne came entirely from the Legros vineyard.
Producer info:
The Champagne House of Legros is in the village of Prouilly in the north of the Champagne region. They have been Champagne makers for 3 generations and Roger Legros is now passing his skills and experience onto his sons.
Customer comment: "It’s definitely not a blanc de blanc style of champagne… more a wine with bubbles. It has a soft acidity balanced with a touch of creaminess a bone dry mouth feel and a gentle grassy green finish that lasts. My husband thinks anyone who likes to drink white burgundy would especially like this champagne, so do give it a try.” (Diane Flynn, London)
Technical Stuff!
