Some of the wine in this champagne has undergone oak ageing and it is very rich and full bodied. It has fine and persistent bubbles. The champagne is incredibly fresh and you should be able to detect notes of vanilla, toffee and baked apples. It is rich enough to stand up to food.

Champagne Charles Ellner remain a family run House in Epernay where the third generation of the family now look after the business. They own 130 acres of vineyards in 15 villages across the principal vinegrowing areas of Champagne such as the Montagne de Reims, Côte des Blancs, the Marne Valley, Aube and Aisne and in the hillsides overlooking Epernay. More than 50% of the vines that Ellner own are Chardonnay to produce cuvées of great finesse, elegance and distinction.
The labels on the Ellner products are taken from a famous picture which Mr and Mrs Ellner acquired some years ago, the artist is unknown.
Technical Stuff! This is a blend of 63% from Chouilly, Avize and Tauxieres and 37% Pinot Noir.
It has spent 8 years on the lees, has not undergone malolactic fermentation and has a dosage of 6g/l.
Only 9,000 bottles have been produced of this specially shaped bottle.
