Roger Legros Rosé
Roger Legros Rosé
A delicately styled, softly fruity champagne
'Beautiful and soft but also elegant strong and purposeful.. a ballerina champagne!'
Gold and Bronze medals wine awards 2010
All the grapes used to make this champagne come entirely from the Legros vineyards. There are beautiful scents of red and black berries on the nose followed by flavours of blackcurrant, blackberry and wild strawberries that linger long on the palate. It’s just like a lovely summer fruit pudding! This wine can be served as an aperitif. It also compliments desserts really well- however a word of warning and apologies to the chocoholics amongst you - best avoid those which are heavy in chocolate. It is also good to drink and with some salads such as a Greek Salad with Watermelon. (Mama Mia!!)
Producer info:
The Champagne House of Legros is in the village of Prouilly in the north of the Champagne region. They have been Champagne makers for 3 generations and Roger Legros is now passing his skills and experience onto his sons.

This is a beautiful clear ruby pink champagne. This champagne is a good example of a Rose made by adding some red wine from the Champagne region to the champagne to achieve the Rosé colour. Most often the red wine used to make Rosé comes from the village of Bouzy (pronounced Boozy!) however the red wine this champagne was made with grapes from one sole plot of vines that date back to 1969.
In 2010 the Rosé won a Gold medal at the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles and a Bronze at the International Wine Challenge.
Laura Clay of Wine educators:
"Tasted this at the London Wine Fair – was bowled over. It is so delicate and stylish. I referred to it as a ballerina type of wine – beautiful, soft, elegant but strong and purposeful. I made sure Richard tasted it as Champagne Ambassador in the year for Rose! I was delighted to see that you are selling it. Cheers!" Laura
