A last minute gift which is actually thoughtful and rare!
We've all been there! Racking our brains to find a last minute gift which actually looks like we've put months of thought and
effort into it ! Well, we may just have the solution with a gem of a champagne we've uncovered in the Grand Cru village of Vezernay.
If you trawl the length and breadth of the UK, you will not find this unique and exceptional champagne elsewhere. What's more, only
1000 bottles have ever been produced, truly making it a rare treasure.
This champagne is made with 100% Grand Cru Chardonnay grapes entirely from the Grand Cru village of Verzenay, they are hand picked and then the wine is aged for a year in new oak casks (made with oak from the forests of Champagne-Ardennes). The champagne undergoes further cellaring of 4-5 years before disgorgement.
There is a deep nose of confectionery, nuts and dried fruit. The palate also displays a great balance between strength and firmness and a wonderful mellowness. There are elegant, subtle woody notes on the finish.
The cork is secured with hemp twine -scissors are included to cut the twine. The cork is sealed with a wax cap and each of the 1000 bottles is individually numbered. Each bottle comes in its own wooden box, therefore making a great gift.
This is an amazing champagne that can hold it's own with food. It is incredible with cheese.
If stored somewhere cool and dark and on its side it will be great to drink for at least another 3 years. Enjoy!
