Champagne Triolet

Thierry Triolet’s vineyard lies in the southerly Côte de Sézanne area, in a village called Bethon. The growers of Sézanne (the Sezannais) favour Chardonnay and Bethon is well known for its chardonnay vines. Thierry runs the vineyard with the help of his wife Frédérique and they have been Récoltant-Manipulants since the 1960’s.
Triolet is a well known and well respected name in the area of Bethon, with several family members running their own small vineyards.

They are true farmers at Triolet and own 11 hectares of vines in Bethon, Villenaux-la-Grande and Montgenost. They love & nurture their champagnes right from the start, tending the vines, harvesting their own grapes, pressing and storing them, then ‘assembling’ their champagnes. Thierry and Frédérique are proud of the full traceability this gives their consumers. Like the rest of the Sezannias, Thierry is a chardonnay chap as are 80% of his vines. He does grow a little Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier for good measure and for a bit of balance.
The 2009 harvest (from September 11-19th) went well, with Thierry reporting that during the nine days they were blessed with bright sunshine which allowed the grapes to be ripe and golden sweet for pressing. So roll on 2011 when we can sample the results!
As well as selling their champagne in the UK through Champagne Warehouse, Triolet sell in France and the U.S through a network of long established customers and distributors.
